Dr. Kerry Kriger is one of the world’s foremost authorities on Indian classical music, the bamboo flute and innovative methods of teaching music using 21st century technologies.
Dr. Kriger has been studying, recording, performing and teaching the bansuri (bamboo flute) and the classical music of northern India since 1996. He took private lessons for nearly a decade with Pandit Vijay Raghav Rao, one of India’s greatest flute masters.
Dr. Kriger’s playing is defined by the mellow tone of his bamboo flute and his innovative improvisations, which are firmly rooted in the 4,000 year old classical Indian tradition. He has performed on bansuri in the USA, India, Bangladesh, Mexico, Costa Rica, Chile, Argentina, Ghana, Thailand, Australia and New Zealand. His website https://bansuribliss.com has inspired countless musicians to pursue the ancient music of northern India and given them the knowledge to succeed in their journey. Dr. Kriger also plays guitar, piano, drums, jaw harp, ukelele and a variety of other instruments.
Dr. Kriger holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Science and is the Founder of SAVE THE FROGS!, a nonprofit organization that has conducted over 2,000 educational events in 60 countries. He is also the Founder of Zero2Webmaster, a website design consultancy that helps musicians, nonprofits and small businesses achieve their highest potential.
