Namaste!
I’ve been in southeast Asia for the last month. Our regularly scheduled Bansuri Bliss Members Lessons, which take place at 8am Los Angeles time EVERY Saturday and Sunday, take place around midnight in this part of the world.
For years I’ve heard bansuri players from Australia through to Hawaii tell me they can’t attend our weekend lessons due to the timezone issue. I get it…but I’m not buying it!
I was on every lesson other than when I was out in the rainforest looking for frogs (I led two ecotours in Malaysia). Yes I was sometimes tired. Sometimes I couldn’t play because of sleeping neighbors. Sometimes I played in spite of sleeping neighbors (nobody complained). But I could always talk or sing softly. I could always lay in bed with the video off and listen and write in the chat box, or contribute in some way. I set my alarm as needed to make sure I was up…even when I had a substitute teacher in charge of the class.
Which means, you either make time or you don’t make time for music lessons. You either show up or you don’t. Of course, I hope the content of our lessons is enjoyable and enlightening for you…otherwise you shouldn’t show up, in which case I’m happy to issue you a refund.
But assuming you enjoy bansuri lessons and have no true conflicts at the set lesson times, I am here to inform you that you CAN attend more lessons…regardless of what time they take place.
With that said, I look forward to teaching this Saturday and Sunday at 8am Los Angeles time…and I encourage your increased attendance 🙂
I hope to see you soon!
