How To Cover The 6th Hole
Bansuri Q & A Episode 016: How To Cover The 6th Hole
QUESTION:
“Does it make any difference if we use third finger or the pinky for the last hole. It may be less strenuous to use the pinky. It may be noted that the seventh hole is rarely used by many like Hariji, Rakeshji and others. I will be grateful to hear your response. Thanks
— Sharad Moghe
ANSWER:
I don’t think it’s a good idea to play the Pa hole (6th hole) with your pinky. If it is hard to reach with your ring finger, practice it daily and if necessary play on a smaller flute until it becomes easy, then move up to a larger flute.
